Louis B. Cantor MD

  

Dr. Louis Cantor is Chair of OTI SAB.  He is a renowned glaucoma surgeon and passionate educator and  Jay C. and Lucile L. Kahn Professor Emeritus of Ophthalmology at the Indiana University School of Medicine.  During his thirty-plus-year tenure working at Indiana University, Dr. Cantor has held key positions, from the Director of Glaucoma service to the Chair of Ophthalmology Department (2009 and 2017). Dr. Cantor was appointed Senior Secretary for Education for the American Academy of Ophthalmology in January 2013 through 2019.  


Dr. Cantor is a member of multiple organizations including the Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society,  an associate examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology,  and  scientific advisor and reviewer for many ophthalmology publications, including Ophthalmology, American Journal of Ophthalmology, Archives of Ophthalmology, Journal of Glaucoma and others. He serves as Glaucoma Editor for Survey of Ophthalmology.  He has also served as a consultant and scientific advisor for multiple industry partners developing new advances for diagnosing and treating glaucoma.
