Tina Guanting Qiu MD, PHD
Dr Qiu is the Founder and CEO/President of OTI LLC. She is a retinal surgeon-stem cell transplant biologist by trainings with 25 years of global experience in ophthalmology across academic, biotech Pharma, strategic consulting and entrepreneurial startups (GSK, Inotek Pharma, Astellas Pharma). She has pioneered in some of the most exciting ophthalmic therapeutic innovations (retinal stem cell & gene therapy and ocular drug delivery), leveraging big data for IP innovation, addressing the most difficult problem in modern medicine development (>90% failure); she helped turnaround some high profile retinal and glaucoma programs (Trabodenoson, OpRegen, Rescula, Jetrea).
Dr. Qiu received a Bachelor Degree of Clinical Medicine from Nanchang University and Doctorate of Clinical Ophthalmology from National Sun Yat-sen University in Southern China, with PhD thesis research project in collaboration with University of Pennsylvania, followed by postdoc fellowship trainings at Boston University and Doheny Eye Institute of USC under Dr Eugene de Juan Jr. and Dr Mark Humayun, mentored by top pharma executive, Paul Howes; she is a 2025 EMBA candidate at Quantic Business School. She is board certificated ophthalmologist in China (non-active) and an elected member of AAO. She received 2023 Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement awards, is recognized by a Top Physician & Entrepreneur & Innovator 2024 by IAOTP International Association of Top Professionals.
